Sam's subs are filling and delicious. The original Uncle Sam's is theshop. Sam was a cantankerous old man who bossed the grill and would give you "advice", telling you to listen because, "I'm your Uncle -- Uncle SAM!"

Eventually Sam passed the business on to his sons and retired to someplace warm. The sons started branching out. They opened a store in Squirrel Hill (on Forbes near Murray Avenue), in Fox Chapel (in the Waterworks strip-mall), and in Robinson (near Robinson Town Center next to Half Price Books).

The subs are huge and filled with goodness, and are available with lots of extras. There are lots of vegetarian-friendly options. The subs come with a pile of tasty string fries. Different stores offer different items, from sweet-potato fries or waffle fries to beers (in the stores outside the city limits).

The same folks have also opened Fuel & Fuddle and Joe Mama's, both in Oakland near the original Sam's. Delivery from all three are available through Wheel Deliver.
