Highland Park is north of the city. The two main roads to and through it are North Negley Avenue (served by the 71A) and North Highland Avenue (served by the 500). The main business district is Bryant street, which is a few blocks from the actual park (Highland Park).

Highland Park has two reservoirs for the city water system. The Pittsburgh Zoo is also there.
